Abstract

Novel substitution products of bromopentacarbonylmanganese with functional SH groups at the phosphine ligand are obtained by reaction of the phosphine sulphides R 2P(S)H (R = CH 3, C 2H 5, C 6H 5) with BrMn(CO) 5. The presence of SH groups is detected not only chemically by S-methylation with CH 2N 2 but also 1H NMR, mass and IR spectroscopically.
