Abstract

In this work we proposed a dark channel enhancement algorithm to solve hue and brightness distortion in the classic dark channel prior algorithm. Our algorithm was designed with the SRAD model (Reducing Anisotropic Diffusion Speckle). In our algorithm, the transmission image was firstly smoothed by the SRAD model and two tolerant parameters to get the precise modification of the input image. After that, a fog image can be better processed by the dark channel prior theory. In the end we compare our algorithm by subjective observation and parameter evaluation. Our algorithm showed better image quality than the classic dark channel prior algorithm.
