Abstract

At the beginning of archival documents often used by researchers in Ottoman social and economic history studies are inheritance records. Heritage records, which are evaluated by researchers from various angles, contain information about the personal life of the deceased, family structures. In addition, detailed data about weaving products, household items such as kitchens, furniture and hardware, animals and real estate that the deceased used throughout their lives can be obtained. Thanks to these data, the monetary relations of the period, consumption patterns, life philosophy, distribution of tools and accessories used in everyday life, clothing and clothing understandings, production tools and how personal wealth is distributed can be examined. For this reason, heritage records have a very important place in historical research. In addition, researchers need to make more use of this group of resources. In this regard, the study examined the reasons for the confiscation of securities and real estate of Sayyid Abdurrahman Feyzi Bey, who was a Mints Minister for a period, the transactions applied and the examination of his goods in a socio-economic context.
