Abstract

This article will discuss the issues concerning the storage, retrieval and use of multimedia technology in dance, and how semantic web technologies can support those requirements. It will identify the key aims and outcomes of four international telematic dance projects, and review the use of reflective practice to engage students in their learning process. Participants in the projects have been involved in a collaborative learning environment with multiple perspectives (verbal, written and multimedia) on a group’s and an individual’s performance. It introduces the design of an annotated video viewer by the Ensemble Project Team in collaboration with the dance students. Finally, it discusses how the annotated video viewer will be used to support students’ creative management of their own narrative of their learning process.
