Abstract

AbstractThis work presents a three‐scale mean‐field homogenization framework for constitutive multiscale (micro‐meso‐macro) modelling of fibre reinforced composites (FRC) considering a curing process and damage. An FRC is decomposed into unidirectional fibres surrounded by an interface, which in turn is surrounded by a matrix material. Based on the Mori‐Tanaka mean‐field homogenization method effective properties are determined. In each material phase damage is considered, namely matrix damage, fibre damage and interface damage. Based on a curing process effective elastic, thermal, chemical and plastic properties of the matrix and the interface are determined in terms of a degree of cure.
