Abstract
1. The strength and plastic properties of turbine blades of VZhL12U alloy are determined to a significant degree by the carbide transformations, the redistribution of alloy elements, the precipitation of new phases, and the change in morphology of the γ′-phase particles occurring in service. 2. One of the basic causes promoting the start of fatigue failure of blades of VZhL12U alloy is thermal fatigue cracking of the coating applied to these blades.
