Abstract

The UN climate conference COP-26 has produced some positive results in the areas of methane reduction, nature conservation, forest protection, coal, finance, transparency mechanisms, international cooperation and technology transfer. Ambitious climate targets should be achieved with a view to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Unfortunately, fossil fuels are only gradually phased out and subsidies will eventually decrease. However, there is a new fund to help poorer countries cope with climate damages, but without negotiating exact amounts. The review of climate change commitments will be crucial.
