Abstract
The impact of larval feeding by Vitacea polistiformis (Harris) on commercial grape vines in north central Georgia is described by a set of multiple regression equations where the response variables are grape vine yield parameters and the concomitant variables are 2 indices of grape root borer (GRB) infestation level. Correlations between total (cane + berry) yield and 2 GRB infestation level parameters indicate that 21% increase in trunk base girdling by larval feeding is associated with a 90% reduction in total (berry + cane) yield, and the accumulation of 42 or more larval feeding sites in the root system can cause death of grape vines.
