Abstract

As a safety guarantee against explosion in underground confined space, the anti-explosion performance of the seal plays an important role for personal safety. In this paper, after extensively investigating the common seals in China, the mechanical properties of the brick seal under impact load are studied by numerical simulation. The characteristics of gas explosion in a confined area and the propagation characteristics of shock wave are analyzed, and the pressure change of shock wave on seal caused by gas explosion is predicted. A series of numerical simulation analysis was carried out on the brick seal under different pressure changes, and the changes of its safety under different conditions were obtained. Secondly, the variable value of wall damage is defined. Taking the brick wall as a typical example, a series of different impulse and pressure loading methods are used to determine the damage state of the seal under different loading methods. Through establishment of the equation and solution, the damage contour of the brick seal is obtained and displayed in a coordinate system of pressure and impulse, and a P-I graph is drawn so as to judge the damage state of the seal under a specified explosion pressure and impulse. The research results in this paper can provide theoretical basis and reasonable suggestions for the actual construction of the seal, and provide references for further research on the anti-explosion performance of the seal.
