Abstract

In this article, an integrated analytical model is built to predict the damage and compressive strength of multi-layer composite laminates after low velocity impact (CAI). First, the low velocity impact process and the impact damage are simulated. Then, the state of damage is taken as the input for analysing the residual compressive strength. In order to validate these analytical studies, three kinds of multi-layer composite laminates mixed-formed by uni-directional layer HS160SF and woven layer HS220DF are tested good agreements between simulative and experimental results are obtained.
