Abstract

The cultural links between Italy and Poland are among the most widely covered research topics. Yet the Middle Ages are often ignored. An aspect of Italian-Polish cultural links that deserves further investigation is the reception of Italian comedy within the frame of the new fifteenth-century poetics in Poland. Although there is no direct evidence of actual staging of Italian comedy, the comedy was used for educational purposes in the Academy of Kraków between the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries.
