Abstract

Liquefaction of fiber reinforced plastic (FRP) containing photopolymerized polyvinyl ester was carried out in cresol mixture solvent, benzyl alcohol and N-methyl pyrrolidone at 200℃. The FRP was liquefied almost completely in cresol mixture solvent with small amount of sulfuric acid for 180 min under atmospheric pressure. Cresol and alkyl phenol was observed mainly in liquid product obtained from pyrolized liquefied FRP at 600℃. After distillation to remove light faction, liquid product could be liquefied FRP and glass fiber was collected. All process was carried out under atmospheric pressure and glass fiber was recovered from FRP easily by using recycle solvent obtained from liquefied FRP.
