Abstract

Measurements of line positions and absolute linestrengths of D2O in the ν2 band were made with a Fourier-transform spectrometer at a resolution of 5 × 10−3 cm−1. The measured line frequencies of D216O and D218O were used along with additional data taken from studies of pure rotational transitions in an analysis to obtain rotational energies of levels in the (000) and (010) states. Measurements of the linestrengths were fitted by least-squares and the results are in exeellent agreement with the 899 and 438 experimental transitions of D216O and D218O, respectively, included in the analyses. These results provide a more accurate representation of the line positions and linestrengths for the (010)-(000) band than that currently available.
