Abstract

In BWR, it is examined to apply non-uniform lattice rod bundle for next generation reactor. The characteristics of two-phase flow in non-uniform lattice rod bundle were investigated in this study. By using the X-ray CT scanner, the void distributions in the non-uniform and uniform lattice rod bundle were measured. The void distribution of non-uniform lattice bundle was compared with that of uniform lattice bundle. The void concentrates on the wider subchannel due to void drift effect, and cross-sectional average void fraction of non-uniform lattice rod bundle becomes smaller than that of uniform lattice rod bundle.
