Abstract

AbstractA description is given of the theoretical concepts pertaining to the electrodeposition of aluminum from alkylbenzene electrolytes. Experimental work done in static D.C. plating of aluminum and aluminum alloys is reviewed. The results obtained from experimental work done in pulse plating of aluminum alloys shows the increase in coating thickness that can be achieved by the use of this technique. Barrel plating of steel and titanium fasteners has been found to exhibit enhanced corrosion resistance following a chromatation treatment.
