Abstract
Fractional flow reserve (FFR) is used to determine hemodynamic significance of coronary artery lesions. FFR was validated in a prospective, Bayesian approach where the value of 0.75 was identified to be associated with evidence of myocardial ischemia. FFR, which is based on the ratio between mean distal and proximal coronary pressures during the entire cardiac cycle (including systolic). Since estimation of myocardial flow has a linear relationship only during diastole where myocardial resistance is at its minimum.
