Abstract
Biomedical applications of gold nanoparticles are very interesting and highly incredible in the current scenario. In this work, environmental benign sulphated polysaccharide isolated from marine brown seaweed Padina tetrastromatica was used to synthesize the god nanoparticles (AuNPs). UV–vis spectrophotometer was used to synthesize the gold nanoparticles which were confirmed by the peak at 540 nm. To determine the crystalline structure of the gold nanoparticles XRD technique was utilized. SEM was used to analyse the size and shape of the synthesized nanoparticle and the spherical structure is verified by TEM. Presence of gold elements in the prepared nanoparticles was detected by elemental analysis. Finally, the experimental results of the gold nanoparticle's anti-cancer activity against liver and lung cancer cells indicate strong biomedical property.
