Abstract

Drosera obovata MERT et KOCH which is found in OSE shows an intermediate form between Drosera anglica HUDSON and Drosera rotundifolia L. Comparing the specimens, which were sent from the european botanical museums, with japanese Drosera obovata, the morphological feature with special reference to its lamina is discussed.A cytological study of three species of Drosera above mentioned is described.Drosera anglica HUDSON 2n=40 n=20Drosera rotundifolia L. 2n=20 n=10Drosera obovata MERT et KOCH 2n=30Meiosis in Drosera obovata shows 10 bivalent chromosomes and 10 univalent chromosomes (10II+10I). Cytological studies of D. obovata especially the behaviour of chromosomes lead to the conclusion that D. obovata is the hybrid between D. anglica and D. rotundifolia.
