Abstract

Body fluids may be the only available sample for diagnosis of tumors affecting the serous cavities. Hence, detailed cytologic examination carries utmost importance in spite of morphologic overlaps. Peritoneal mesotheliomas need to be distinguished from advanced intra-abdominal serous adenocarcinomas especially in women with the help of immunohistochemical stains pancytokeratin and calretinin. Dual site mesothelioma is a rare possibility which may be encountered.
