Abstract

Cystadenofibroma (CAF) is a benign ovarian tumor that often exhibits malignant features on imaging. In older women who have completed childbearing, a unilateral oophorectomy is often performed for ovarian tumors. In younger women who continue to desire future fertility, ovarian conservation should be the goal for surgical management of benign ovarian tumors. We present a case of an adolescent with diagnosis of CAF and review current literature in an attempt to find common characteristics on imaging and intraoperative examination that may indicate a benign condition and allow for ovarian conservation.
