Abstract

This conference paper reviews the concept, development, calibration, testing, and demonstration of a Cylindrical Polarimetric Phased Array Radar (CPPAR) for weather observations. It documents the origination of the CPPAR concept and demonstrates the CPPAR's capability in maintaining polarization purity in all directions and its azimuthal scan invariant beam characteristics for high quality weather measurements.
