Abstract

A novel cylindrical microstrip antenna array with slotted strip-framed patches fed by a microstrip line has been proposed and analyzed. A distinguishing feature of the suggested antenna is a widely controlled coupling between the patch and the CML. The control is executed by varying the distance between the CML and the individual patch. A comparison has been made between the cylindrical and planar microstrip antenna arrays. A very good agreement is observed for the resonance frequencies and the resonance current distributions. This fact validates the cylindrical microstrip antenna arrays model proposed in this paper.
