Abstract
Abstract In order to cover laboratory practical activities, a prototype to control the position of a sliding cylinder has been developed. Both the required theoretical background and the equipment cost are simple enough to allow its use at an introductory control engineering course. The laboratory set-up is described and some experiments are reported.
