Abstract
The acceleration of charged macroparticles of lanthanum hexaboride by constant voltage pulses applied in synchronism with their orbital motion is considered. These macroparticles are confined on a circular path of constant radius by a radial electric field which increases as the square of the velocity of the macroparticles. Velocities above 300 km/s and initial impact temperatures in the range of 5 × 10 8 K are expected.
