Abstract
A cyclopenta[def]fluorene based high triplet energy hole transport material was synthesized as a thermally stable hole transport material for blue phosphorescent organic light-emitting diodes. The cyclopentafluorene type hole transport material showed a high glass transition temperature of 143°C, high triplet energy of 2.81eV and the lowest unoccupied molecular orbital of 2.10eV for electron blocking in blue phosphorescent organic light-emitting diodes. The cyclopentafluorene type hole transport material improved the external quantum efficiency of blue phosphorescent organic light-emitting diodes.
