Abstract
AbstractRecent experimental studies of cyclone performance at the severe process conditions usually present in shale retorts were used to test existing correlations for the prediction of cyclone collection efficiency and pressure drop. Modifying the correlations to include the effects of solids loading and particle saltation provides significantly better agreement between predicted and experimental values.
