Abstract

Composite membranes have shown promising advantages over alkaline doped membranes when used as fuel cells separation membrane. A series of poly(phthalazinone ether ketone) (PPEK) with different loading of quaternary ammonium groups modified cyclodextrins functional graphene oxide (QA-CDβ@GO) composite membrane were synthesized by self-assembling. The prepared composite membranes exhibited good thermal stability and enhanced mechanical properties. Meanwhile, the 10% QA-CDβ@GO/PPEK membranes exhibited an acceptable hydroxide conductivity of 42.37 mS·cm−1 at 80 °C and alkaline stability for 400 h. In addition, the swelling ratio of the composite membranes was lower than 20%. Furthermore, the results revealed that graphene oxide composite membrane could be used as anion exchange membrane.
