Abstract
Cyclocondensation reaction between amine and ketone is a robust, efficient and green method widely adopted for the synthesis of nitrogen-containing planar π-conjugated molecules. Recently, it has also been utilized to construct macrocycles with donor-acceptor structures. This highlight review summarizes recent examples that cyclocondensation is used for the synthesis of nanohoops, nanohoop dimers and nanobelts.
