Abstract
Prev ious ly we had repor ted [1] that replacing sulfuric acid by fluorosulfonic acid as the cycl izat ion ini t iator mskes it possible to lower sharply the amount of the cyclizat ion agent, to increase the s t ruc tura l se lect iv i ty of the reac t ion , and grea t ly to expand the p repara t ive possibi l i t ies of this react ion for the case of the s impler terpenoids . In the p r e sen t paper we studied the poss ib i l i ty of using the indicated reagent for more complex cases of the format ion of b i , t r i , and polycyel ic compounds.
