Abstract
Abstract To characterize a receptive substance in an apple leaf of phytotoxic AM-toxin I, retro-enantiomer of the toxin was synthesized by the solution method. This analog showed no toxic activity, indicating that the specific backbone conformation of the toxin is essential for the activity.
