Cyclic four-coordinate boron compounds from 5-amino-1,2,4-triazole and aromatic nitriles

Abstract

1. A new series of cyclic compounds of four coordinate boron- the dialkylboryl-[(1,2,4-triazol-5-yl)amidinates] (IX)- has been synthesized from 5-amino-1,2,4-triazole, aromatic nitriles, and trialkylboranes. 2. In the crystalline, dimeric dialkylboryl derivatives of 5-amino-1,2,4-triazole the Alk2B groups are bonded to the ring N atoms. 3. The crystalline and molecular structure of dipropylboryl[(1,2,4-triazol-5-yl)benzamidinate] (IXa) have been determined by X-ray crystallography.
