Abstract

AbstractConcentrically braced frames (CBFs) are widely used as the main lateral force‐resisting system in pipeline supporting structures. Their seismic performance mainly depends on the hysteretic response of bracing members. Axial members with single‐ or double‐angle sections have been commonly implemented although there is limited information on their cyclic behavior experimentally verified. This study prepares single‐ and double‐angle brace specimens with various width‐thickness ratios and slenderness ratios, performs cyclic loading tests. and compares their cyclic behavior obtained from the tests and back‐bone curves provided in standard.
