Abstract

Aqueous synthesis of one dimensional (1D) semiconductor nanostructures presents a great challenge. By using a cyclic RGD peptide as the ligand, 1D wurtzite CdTe nanocrystals with uniform size and excellent storage stability were prepared in aqueous solution. The integration of one dimensionality with the specific RGD motif makes the CdTe nanocrystals attractive in constructing optical and electrical devices or sensors for biotechnological applications.
