Abstract

The Cuyahoga County Statistical Reports Project (CCSRP) is an effort on the part of the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Office to provide widespread access to an extensive public health archive spanning over 70 years. The Statistical Reports (SRs) are an annual summary of death investigation data for metropolitan Cleveland. Launched in 1937, the SRs offer tabulations of data regarding various demographic information pertaining to deaths in the county and analyses by manner of death with a focus on trauma subtypes and expanded toxicological information. Except for a minor interruption from 2007–2010, now remedied, the SRs have been published through 2012. The CCRSP provides the most recent SRs in a searchable format containing electronically linked Microsoft Excel spreadsheets. Older SRs have been digitized and are offered in an unsearchable static image format. All reports are available on the county medical examiner website, www.medicalexaminer.cuyahogacounty.us . It is hoped that this archive will serve as a valuable resource for those interested in public health, especially lethal injury and other mortality trends over time.
