Abstract

This article verifies the procedures used for obtaining internal data from a machining centre, and evaluates the state of the cutting tool in machining process. Tool condition monitoring reduces the production costs and time required to service cutting tools as well as increases the efficiency of the manufacturing process. This paper summarizes the commercially available solutions to access machine tool data that are suitable for creating a monitoring system for specific machining applications. The proposed model was tested under real cutting conditions, and recommendations for future research have been provided.
