Abstract

Abstract Geometric dissection is an attractive form of mathematical recreation and a method of proving a very important result, the Pythagorean theorem, which leads to a discussion of Pythagorean triples and Fermat’s last theorem. Geometric Dissections There is a kind of mathematical puzzle that is concerned with dissecting a geometric figure into a number of pieces and reassembling them to form a different figure. Problems of this sort are called geometric dissections.
