Abstract
The hand is an anatomical region whose cutaneous pathology frequently requires surgical treatment. Dermatologists, as cutaneous surgeons, should be able to undertake this treatment. This review outlines the necessary knowledge of superficial anatomy, pathology and basic anaesthetic techniques which the cutaneous surgeon should possess. The main surgical techniques are described.
