Abstract

Clear cell sarcoma (CCS) of tendons and aponeuroses (aka malignant melanoma of soft parts) was first described 45 years ago. As the name implies, these lesions frequently affect tendons and aponeuroses of the distal extremities in adolescents and young adults. Both CCS and melanoma involve melanosomes and positivity for the markers S-100, HMB-45, Melan-A, and MITF-1.
