Abstract

Recent legislative direction and concomitant federal policy initiatives reflect longstanding advocacy for informed choice, self-determination and more employment opportunities for people considered to have significant disabilities. This article explores the implications of customized employment strategies for improving employment outcomes, the potential inhibitors and facilitators of wider scale adoption of these strategies, and the implications of these strategies for influencing future disability employment policy.
