Abstract

The study has focused on the customer's purchase intention for a green home. Questionnaires had been distributed to the potential customers that had an intention to purchase a home. Descriptive statistics showed that almost 78% of the respondents had a clear preference for purchasing a green home; where, the majority of them were from those with a higher level of education. The partial least square (PLS) modelling was used to explore the relationship between the independent variables and the dependent variable. The results indicate that the environmental attitude (environmental concern and environmental knowledge), developer capability (trustworthiness and expertise), and the perceived role of the government positively influence the purchase intention of a green home. The results of this study also validate the effect of the stakeholder theory, which could give a meaningful insight for businesses in this industry when they formulate their future strategic marketing plan.
