Abstract

Quorum-sensing systems, common in prokaryotes, enable bacteria to coordinately regulate behavior with population density. Reporting recently in Cell Host & Microbe, Homer etal. (2016) characterize an elegant eukaryotic quorum-sensing pathway in the human pathogenic fungus Cryptococcus neoformans.
