Abstract
Curvature of plane and space curves is a staple of the calculus course. However, the connections between the center of curvature, the evolute and involutes, parallel curves, envelopes of families of curves, and the Bi-Fold Door Problem are not the typical fare in a calculus course. This unit explores, via Maple, curvature of plane curves — and associated concepts.
