Abstract

The momentum spectra of nucleons from pp collisions at 19 GeV are investigated for various fixed numbers of pions emitted together with them. Results on inelasticities, transverse and longitudinal spectra are presented, and the contribution of the various types of events to the forward (diffractive) proton peak is investigated. Evidence is found for a group of reactions where the two incoming protons stop each other. The average transverse mo momentum of the nucleons is found to increase with the number of pions emitted in the reaction (as long as this number is relatively small).
