Abstract
The paper presents the current data on the species diversity of lactobacilli in women of reproductive age and their role in maintaining the normal vaginal microbiocenosis. Attention was paid to genotypic features of some lactobacillus species and the mechanisms providing antimicrobial protection of the vaginal biotope. The controversial issue of the ability of Lactobacillus iners to ensure stability of the normal vaginal microbiota.

Одной из важнейших задач современной клинической микробиологии является изучение микробиоты влагалища, являющейся индикатором репродуктивного здоровья женщины. Слизистая влагалища является входными воротами для возбудителей урогенитальных инфекций. Поэтому микробиота влагалища признается в качестве важного фактора защиты от различных бактериальных, вирусных и грибковых патогенов. Именно они выполняют барьерную функцию и обеспечивают высокий уровень противомикробной защиты [2]
