Abstract
A questionnaire was sent to 260 physical therapists and facilities to ascertain the use of massage during physical therapy programs. The analysis of 169 responses indicated that most therapists believed in the therapeutic use of massage, stroking and kneading massage were the most frequently used techniques, and massage was usually performed by staff therapists.
