Abstract

The world’s energy sector faces two major challenges: one is the rapid rise in the price of oil products, and the other is the increase in the amount of carbon dioxide emitted by industry into the atmosphere, leading to global warming. Developments in alternative energy sources, such as solar and hydrogen energy, are becoming increasingly relevant. In this regard, there has been a lot of interest in converting CO2 into useful products. Hydrogenation of carbon dioxide into useful energy resources and chemicals is becoming increasingly important as it is seen as a promising way to reclaim harmful CO2 as a by-product. The article considers modern technologies of hydrogen production and industrial conversion of carbon dioxide into useful products, and also describes the author’s natural method of catalytic conversion of carbon dioxide into useful green energy resources – hydrogen and hydrocarbons.
