Abstract

Marine landscapes are a global marine ecosystem with heterogeneous and complex subsystems and a class of landscape ecosystems with obvious hierarchical structures. Research on marine landscapes has also become the focus of domestic and foreign scholars. At present, the main research directions of domestic scholars include the conservation and protection of marine cultural landscapes; the main research directions of foreign scholars include marine landscape protection and biodiversity. In this paper, we analyze and summarize the status of marine landscape research visually through CiteSpace software, summarize the shortcomings and solutions to the problems, and find that the strength and speed of domestic research on marine landscapes is not sufficient compared with the strength of foreign endeavors; the current laws and regulations related to marine landscape protection are relatively few; and there is almost no research on natural marine landscapes. Future research directions should serve enlightening roles in future research work.
