Abstract

Objective To observe the nurses’ hand hygiene compliance at skin disease clinics, analyze the influence factors of hand hygiene compliance, and improve the hand hygiene compliance of outpatient nurses. Methods The implementation of hand hygiene in 72 outpatient nurses was surveyed by questionnaire investigation and observation. Results The knowledge awareness for hand hygiene compliance rate was 76.4%. The method awareness for hand hygiene compliance rate was 72.2%. Thetotal hand hygiene compliance rate was 65.8%. The influence factors of hand hygiene compliance were too busy and having no time (53.8%), worrying about the complains from patients(15.1%), unrational hand-washing facility (10.9%), considering the soap and hand disinfectant would damage the skin(10.1%), and poor personal hygiene (10.1%). Conclusions Hand hygiene compliance can not meet the domestic level. From the aspects of the above, we should rationally allocate medical staff work time. the nurses’ hand hygiene knowledge training should be strengthened, hand hygiene management system standardized, and the level of hand hygiene knowledge awareness and compliance improved.
