Abstract

Objective To investigate the current situation of nurses' caring behavior and analyze its influencing factors,in order to provide basis for the practice of caring behavior.Methods Caring nurse-patient interaction scale-short scale ( CNPI-23 ) was used to investigate 272 chnical nurses' caring behavior from 3 aspects of importance,competence and feasibility.The score of each item for each aspect was 5 to 15,and total score of the scale was 69 to 345.The Cronbach' s α of the scale was 0.97,and of the 3 aspects was 0.92 to 0.95.The exploratory and confirmative factor analysis showed that CNPI-23 had good construct validity.Results 272 questionnaires were given out,267 were called back and 260 were effective,with the effective rate of 95.6%.The score of each item ranged from 11.67 to 14.23,of which the highest 5 items were mainly about operative caring behavior,and the lowest 5 items were mainly about expressive caring behavior.The age and working life of nurses were positively correlated with the score of competency aspect ( r =0.35,P < 0.05 )and clinical caring dimension within feasibility aspect ( r =0.40,P < 0.05 ).Nurses' age was also positively correlated with the score of humanistic care within competency aspect ( r =0.13,P < 0.05 ).The higher nurses' professional title was,the higher their scores in competency aspect ( x2 =22.00,P < 0.05 ) and feasibility aspect ( x2 =10.71,P < 0.05 ) were.Conclusions Rich life and work experience and the improvement of competency can promote nurses' caring behavior.
