Abstract
Objective To investigate the current situation and influencing factors of the alarm fatigue of hemodialysis nurses. Methods From March to May 2017, 80 nurses in the hemodialysis room of three Grade A hospitals in Tai'an City were surveyed by the self-made general data questionnaire, the nurse burnout scale and the clinical alarm fatigue scale. Results The total score of hemodialysis room nurses alarm fatigue was (25.01±2.38)points.There were statistically significant differences in gender, educational background, years of employment, number of training sessions per year, and frequency of setting parameters(P<0.05). The item with the highest score was the instrument alarm that made me sick of everything . The lowest scoring item was instrument alarm gave me a headache . The total score of occupational burnout of nurses in hemodialysis room was(63.30±6.04)points.Emotional exhaustion and depersonification were at moderate burnout and personal accomplishment was at severe burnout.There was positive correlation between nurse equipment alarm fatigue and emotional exhaustion(r=0.606, P=0.013), positive correlation with depersonalization(r=0.385, P=0.006), and negative correlation with personal accomplishment(r=-0.412, P=0.021). Conclusions Participation in training and parameter setting are the main influencing factors.Hospital managers should take active measures to improve the current situation.
